Latvijas Speciālo pedagogu asociācija (LSpecPA) - LATVIA

The LSpecPA association was established in September 2017, it is national organisation with regional branches in all Latvian regions. Members of the Association are special pedagogues, teachers, speech therapists, psychologists, educators, experts from the Latvian ministry of Education (On 01.03.2018 - 228 members). THE CHAIRPERSON OF THE BOARD – Dr.paed., assoc. prof. MARITE ROZENFELDE The aim of the Latvian Association of Special Education Teachers is to re resent special pedagogues/special education teachers in Latvia, Europe, and in the world. The tasks of the LspecPA are the following: participate in the harmonization of professional legislation, rise and address issues of special education in Latvia and work-related problems of special pedagogues/special education teachers/special teaching assistants; raise visibility of special pedagogues/special education teachers in Latvia; participate in the elaboration, harmonization and implementation of higher education programs and professional qualification improvement programs of continuing education; offer opinions/recommendations of the experts in the special pedagogy; promote the development of the science of special education and collaboration with scientific and professional organizations and NGO in Latvia, Europe, and in the world, study and publish views and recent research findings on the matters of special pedagogy among the members; ensure the opportunities of professional development and professional experience exchange; represent and defend interests of the association members; promote society’s awareness of human development disorders and prevent these disorders; participate in activities of public benefit in such fields as healthcare, science and education, in prevention of development disorders to support people with development disorders, families raising children with development disorders, pedagogues and health care professionals, etc.

DABG

SDRUZHENIE ASOCIACIA DYSLEXIA - BULGARIA (DABG) is a non-governmental and not-for-profit organisation, which main aims are: to increase awareness about dyslexia and other learning difficulties, to train teachers how to recognise the symptoms of dyslexia and all comorbid conditions, to educate and support parents of children with SLD, to provide help to students for overcoming their difficulties and better realisation after school, etc. Specialists in the Association provide trainings, seminars, workshops, presentations for teachers, specialists and parents; assessment and individual consultations for children, young people, and adults from all over the country. Since its formation in 2005, DABG has taken part in many projects related to dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties, early identification and early intervention; supporting students to develop good study skills, using assistive technologies in education, bilingualism, foreign language learning/teaching, etc. DABG works in collaboration with local educational authorities, schools, universities, NGOs, media.

“GRIGORE MOISIL” Theoretical High School is one of the best schools in Timis county, offering a high level specialisation of Mathematics and Computer Science, with intensive studies in Computer Science. It has the mission of promoting excellence in education and of offering intelligence, sensitivity, responsibility, and creativity in the process of preparing the students for all the aspects of an adult life. With four buildings and 58 classrooms, the school occupies a very important place in the educational image of the city of Timisoara. 123 teachers, plus 29 support and non-teaching staff, provide a good teaching experience for the 1800 students enrolled here. Our pupils are well-prepared and ready to explore the world around them, in many different areas such as Informatics, Medicine, Law, Architecture or Sciences. They participate in numerous competitions, obtaining prizes at all the levels (county, national and international).

As an educational authority, Kocaeli Provincial Directorate is a non- profit public body. It has 39 preschool institutions, 229 special needs institutions, 281 primary schools, 235 secondary schools, 62 vocational secondary schools, 4 vocational education centers, 6 teachers’ guest houses, 12 Public Training Centers, 3 Counselling and Research Centers in its region. Literacy rate in Kocaeli is quite high and increasing every year. In the provision of education and training services, Provincial Directorate of National Education in collaboration with all stakeholders acts with the responsibility to shape the city’s future. Being one of the industrial cities, Vocational and Technical Education and institutions are crucial to develop their own capacities. As well as being the industrial city, Kocaeli is also a science city with the institutions such as Kocaeli University, Gebze Institute of Technology and Research Centers. In the city, the school / institution number is 1125. In these schools 17.248 teachers carry out a duty and 336.467 students are studying at 12.353 classes. 12 Districts Educational Directorate of National Education are affiliated with Kocaeli Provincial Directorate of National Education.
